Job description

Application Developer, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted):

  1. Manage client expectations and elicit requirements from end users. Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and/or technical specifications.
  2. Deliver requirements, perform analysis, and evaluate downstream system, process, and organizational impacts.
  3. Provide subject matter expert support to internal business partners by responding to inquiries.
  4. Work closely with business partners, developers, and QA analysts to ensure requirements and design alignment.
  5. Communicate design to all stakeholders and organizational levels.
  6. Act as liaison between business partners, developers, and project management groups.
  7. Collaborate with business teams to strategize solutions supporting long-term objectives.
  8. Ensure IT deliverables meet business requirements with measurable results.
  9. Coordinate with QA to align testing efforts with system deliveries and business processes.
  10. Develop estimates for application enhancements.
  11. Create feature test strategies and environment needs.
  12. Ensure technical solutions align with business needs, linking technical and business views, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  13. Document high-level designs, including architecture, that map to approved requirements.
  14. Assist in developing training documentation and identify additional documentation needs proactively.

Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or a Bachelor's degree plus five years of progressive experience). One year of experience as an Application Developer or related, including using COBOL, JCL, SQL Developer, Teradata, DB2, IMSDB. Salary range: $152,859 to $194,500 per year. Full-time. V174.
