Job summary

State of Missouri's MoDOT seeks an Information Systems Technologist at entry/intermediate or senior level to join a team of developers delivering vital applications using .NET, C#, Bootstrap, jQuery, and JavaScript. The role emphasizes structured documentation, planning with stakeholders, and ongoing learning within a CAREER-LADDER framework.

Entry-level opportunities offer progression without a separate interview process; travel is occasional statewide.

Qualifications

  • 60 credit hours toward a related Bachelor's Degree, OR
  • Associate’s Degree: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, OR
  • High School Diploma or GED/HiSET, and two years of experience in computer systems, repairs, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a dynamic team of established developers to create and maintain the information systems vital to the Department of Transportation.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain both new and existing applications using primarily .Net, C#, Bootstrap, Jquery and JavaScript
  • Assists in coordination and planning with department personnel, management team, committees, and other agencies to recommend solutions for current or future application needs and systems compatibility issues.
  • Prepares application documentation, including user manuals, operations procedures, and technical and testing documentation.
  • Research emerging technologies, implement best practices, and explore industry trends.

Education

60 credit hours toward related Bachelor's Degree
Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
High School Diploma or GED/HiSET with two years of experience in computer systems, repairs, and operations

Job description

This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate salary of $56,712.48, and a senior salary of $61,249.44.
