Job summary

Self-Help Credit Union in Durham, NC is seeking an Application Developer to join our team and help build and maintain internal software, data pipelines, and integrations.

You will collaborate with team leaders to design and deploy high-quality applications, manage deployments, and support business workflows while mentoring less experienced staff.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in production applications, with skills in React, C#, ETL, and SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer‑related field such as computer science or software engineering, or equivalent related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in developing and maintaining production business applications.
• Experience with the following technologies: 3‑Tier application architecture and development, ETL process design and management.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with appropriate team leaders and other end users to define, design, implement, and successfully deliver high quality, custom applications to organizational teams, including a variety of assigned internal software systems.
• Provide a high level of quality assurance, testing, project lifecycle and deployment management, and basic system and database administration.
• Participate in and/or lead the development, enhancement, and support of assigned in‑house software applications, data pipelines, and/or enhancements to existing third‑party application systems.
• Manage project lifecycle, deployment, and release for product launches.
• Design and implement applications for assigned business workflows.
• Architect new and redesign/modernize existing applications.
• Build and implement data pipelines and manage databases to support business applications.
• Provide mentoring for less experienced applications staff members and participate in staff member development.
• Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary.
