The DMV programming team's mission is to enhance customer service through innovation; promote public confidence through secure, reliable and available DMV systems; and support a diverse customer service-focused DMV workforce serving internal and external customers throughout the State of Alaska. Our work directly supports both the public and State of Alaska staff across multiple departments.

You will also gain exposure to multiple IT disciplines, such as database systems, networking, security, and application development, while honing your skills through evaluation, analysis, and remediation of complex technical issues and projects.
This position is posted with the flexibility of an Application Developer 3 through Application Developer 4, with a review of the minimum qualifications determining the level at which the selected applicant will start. If selected at the Application Developer 3 level, we have a training plan designed to support progression to the Application Developer 4 level as experience and knowledge grow, providing an opportunity for promotion within the DMV Programming Section.
We currently operate out of the DMV main office at 4001 Ingra Street in Anchorage, Alaska, with the option for staff to work out of our Juneau office on Sherwood Lane or our Fairbanks office on 3rd Street.
For the right candidate, we will also consider a telecommuting option; however, the employee must be an Alaska resident before beginning employment, and the telework location must be within the State of Alaska.

APSIN
Please be aware – this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally, security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
