State of Alaska is seeking a Training Specialist 2 to deliver comprehensive training to Anchorage-based and statewide DMV staff, including onboarding and ongoing coaching on ALVIN and related databases.
You will audit new hires, draft SOPs amid policy or technology updates, and report training outcomes to improve future sessions. The role involves occasional travel to remote DMV offices and hybrid work arrangements in the Anchorage area.

The Training team offers a collaborative, creative, and supportive environment that values continuous learning and professional growth. You will help deliver immersive training that sets staff up for success and maintains statewide consistency across DMV operations. This position provides meaningful work by helping protect identity security, ensure accurate issuance of state credentials, and support safe vehicle operation throughout Alaska. You will also gain exposure to diverse areas of DMV operations, including licensing, titling, verification systems, and partner training. Occasional travel provides variety and the opportunity to support field offices and business partners across the state.
This position works primarily in the Anchorage DMV office in a collaborative training environment that supports hands‑on instruction, policy updates, and coordination with Training Specialists. The role also includes flexible/hybrid telework options for duties such as SOP drafting, training preparation, and administrative tasks. Occasional travel to outlying DMV offices is required for training and auditing needs.

A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice.
