Job summary

The role focuses on full-stack development with Java, Spring, REST services, and modern front-end frameworks in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong Java programming skills with hands-on experience.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular.
  • Experience with the Spring Framework and RESTful services.
  • Experience with SQL and ORM libraries such as Hibernate/JPA.
  • Experience with Git branching in a team to manage source code.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate to multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and modifying software systems, applications, and tools, both existing and potentially new.
  • Analyzing user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility within time and cost constraints.
  • Collaborating with teammates, vendors, and users to develop new program features.
  • Developing unit and integration tests and participating in functional/regression tests.
  • Deploying code to development, test, and production environments using DevOps tools.
  • Organizing and maintaining documentation of application development and revisions.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be dedicated full-time to development and enhancement support for existing applications as well as new development.

Qualifications

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Designing, programming/developing, and modifying software systems, applications, and tools, both existing and potentially new in the future
  • Analyzing user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
  • Collaborating with teammates, other service providers, vendors, and users to develop new program features
  • Developing unit and integration tests, in addition to participating in functional and regression tests to ensure programs will produce the desired results and that instructions are correct
  • Correcting errors by making the appropriate changes and then re-checking the program to ensure the desired result was produced
  • Participating in code reviews by reviewing and incorporating feedback from teammates as well as providing feedback to others based on existing standards and recommended programming practices
  • Deploying code to development, test, and production environments using existing DevOps infrastructure/tools
  • Reviewing help desk messages periodically and working with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
  • Organizing and maintaining documentation of application development and subsequent revisions, so others are able to understand the program

Required Experience, Skills, & Technologies

  • Strong Java programming/development skills, with hands-on experience
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern front-end framework, preferably Angular
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, the Spring Framework and RESTful services
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, SQL and ORM libraries such as Hibernate/JPA
  • Experience with Git branching and merging within a team to manage source code
  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities and communication to multiple stakeholders

Desired Experience, Skills & Technologies

  • Experience with, or knowledge of, Elasticsearch
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, best practices for developing secure web applications

Clearance Required

  • Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required
  • TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph required
