Job description

The Application Developer will support the full software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, implementation, and maintenance of application software.

This role involves participation in special projects, contributing to multiple phases of the release cycle, conducting systems research, and assisting with technical problem-solving.

The developer must work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support all phases of the software development life cycle, including analysis, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
• Participate in special project initiatives, assisting with design, development, testing, and delivery activities.
• Research emerging software and hardware technologies to ensure high-quality operational and implementation practices.
• Apply problem-solving techniques to assist development staff with diagnosing and resolving programming issues.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of high-quality technical solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established development standards and methodologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java, .NET, C#, XML, and SQL.
• ETL and Informatica skills are a plus.
• Experience with FAST integration and/or FAST Data schema is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment while managing changing priorities.
• Customer-focused mindset with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and system design skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to work onsite in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with ETL pipelines or Informatica tools.
• Familiarity with insurance or financial services systems (if relevant to FAST).
