Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Hands-On Application Architect to lead a large-scale modernization of legacy Java applications into a modern microservices and event-driven environment. The candidate will architect solutions, build POCs, troubleshoot complex issues, and work directly with development teams to enable successful implementation.

Responsibilities

Insight Global is seeking a Hands-On Application Architect for an Enterprise level customer. This candidate will help drive a large-scale modernization of legacy Java applications into a modern microservices and event-driven environment. The ideal candidate has a senior modern java background who can architect solutions while remaining close to implementation, including building POCs, troubleshooting complex issues, making technology decisions, and working directly with development teams. This is not a high-level governance architecture role. We are looking for someone who can design the solution, prove it works, and enable developers to successfully build it.

Skills and Requirements

• 10+ year of experience as a developer
• Deep Java & Springboot background
• Recent hands-on technical experience
• Take complex technical problems, solve it, and how the team how to implement the solution
• Building a prototype or demo, creating a POC
• Getting into logs and troubleshooting complicated issues
• System design ownership - Personally owned application/system design, and architecture decisions
• Starting from a blank slate and making architectural decisions on designing components, databases, translating business requirements into technical approach
• Recent experience modernizing legacy applications into smaller microservices
• Enterprise Level experience
• Scaled Agile
• Relational databases experience
• Experience with either On-prem, AWS, Azure, GCP
