Job summary

Lancesoft in Gary, Indiana is seeking an Application Architect for an 18-month contract to hire (hybrid role in Gary, IN). The position pays $57.69 per hour on W2.

You will design, develop, and test applications across front, back, and middle tiers, lead tool evaluations, and coordinate with vendors as applications modernize toward .NET environments.

Application Architect

Job Description

Has experience in multiple system environments. Should also be experienced in designing, developing, and test applications. Combine multiple technologies to provide alternative physical solutions. Performs analysis of business models, logical specifications and/or user requirements to design solutions. Responsible for the application development as well as the application environment. Understands various types of tools and technologies on the market and their appropriate usage. Responsibilities extend to all components of an application and application environment including front, back, and middle tiers where applicable. These individuals can lead a tool evaluation effort, including the definition of the evaluation criteria, identification of tools to be evaluated, and the actual evaluation. Has worked on various platforms including mainframes, minis and micros. Work may involve interacting with and managing product vendors/suppliers.

Technical Requirements

Strong COBOL/Mainframe experience is mandatory. The team is looking for someone who already has hands-on Mainframe knowledge, as they do not want to spend significant training time on foundational technologies. Experience working in or transitioning to a .NET environment is preferred as applications are being modernised.
