Job summary

CTG, a Cegeka company, seeks an Application Architect to lead modernization efforts in Dallas, TX. You will drive end-to-end architecture across AWS/Azure/IBM Cloud/Google Cloud, designing scalable microservices and serverless solutions.

Responsibilities include API development (REST/GraphQL/gRPC), data modeling for relational and NoSQL databases, secure coding practices, and CI/CD with cloud-native implementations. You will guide modernization roadmaps and legacy migration strategies.

Qualifications

Job description

CTG is seeking to fill an Application Architect - Application Modernization position for our client.

Location: Dallas, TX
Duration: 12 months

Duties

• Lead end-to-end architecture for application modernization initiatives across AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud.
• Design scalable, modular, and maintainable architectures using microservices, event-driven patterns, and serverless computing.
• Develop REST, GraphQL, and gRPC APIs and define integration patterns for modern applications.
• Design data models and architectures incorporating relational and NoSQL databases, caching, and data migration strategies.
• Define containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Architect secure, resilient, and compliant solutions incorporating authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on CI/CD pipelines, automation, and cloud-native implementations.
• Guide the adoption of generative AI technologies, including Watson, Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, and Vertex AI.
• Develop modernization roadmaps using methodologies such as Application Modernization Method (AMM) and tools such as IBM Cloud Automation (ICA).
• Provide architectural oversight for testing governance, performance optimization, data migration, legacy system integration, and hybrid cloud deployments.
• Support modernization of legacy technologies and platforms, including RPG, AIX, and Mainframe Z.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of application architecture and modernization patterns.
• Expertise in microservices, event-driven architecture, serverless computing, and cloud-native design.
• Experience designing scalable APIs using REST, GraphQL, and/or gRPC.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and caching.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud automation.
• Strong understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with generative AI platforms and technologies.

Experience

• Proven experience leading application modernization and architecture initiatives.
• Experience transforming, replatforming, refactoring, or restructuring legacy applications into modern cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with legacy system integration, data migration, hybrid cloud environments, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience collaborating across application development, DevOps, infrastructure, security, and data teams.
• Experience developing modernization roadmaps and providing architectural governance throughout the application lifecycle.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
