Job summary

Pierce Washington LLC is seeking an experienced Application Architect to lead complex, enterprise-class CPQ and eCommerce implementations. You will mentor engineers, drive cross-layer solutions, and ensure scalable performance across systems.

You will translate business requirements into robust architectures, address performance and security, and guide QA and design practices for high-impact projects. Remote and hybrid options are available depending on location.

Qualifications

• Seven years of professional software development experience required.
• Experience delivering CPQ and eCommerce implementations for enterprise clients.
• Strong integration experience with CRM and ERP systems.
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering, or Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and act as a technical resource for Pierce Washington engineers.
• Lead implementation across all tech stack layers: front-end, CPQ platform, web services, security, and authentication.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, robust solutions.
• Perform performance tuning and diagnose compatibility issues.
• Mitigate risk with design and error-handling improvements.
• Improve code architecture, unit testing, databases, and technical designs.
• Ensure quality assurance on large projects and participate in prototyping across modules.

What you get to do:

• Serve as a mentor and technical resource to Pierce Washington software engineers in the implementation of their projects
• Lead implementation of the solutions across all layers of the technology stack, including front-end DOM, CPQ application platform, webservices, HTTP protocols, network security and user authentication layers
• Translate business and technical requirements into an overall solution that is robust, scalable, and extensible
• Conduct performance tuning and diagnose/resolve obscure technical compatibility issues
• Proactively anticipate technical risks and design/implement error handling and other mitigation techniques to ensure system stability and security
• Improve best practices in terms of code architecture, unit testing, database, and technical designs available to the Pierce Washington engineering team
• Perform quality assurance on large projects, including areas of estimations, design, architecture, and coding
• Participate in and prototyping broader product designs going across modules and projects
• Suggest and implement third party libraries and software in the product
• Responsible for overall performance and scalability of delivered applications and projects

What you bring to the role:

• Experience implementing enterprise solutions supporting Quote to Cash business processes, including CPQ and eCommerce implementations
• Deep integration experience with a variety of tools and technologies, including integration to a variety of CRM and ERP systems
• Understanding of the systems development life cycle, including experience with waterfall, agile, and hybrid methodologies
• Seven years of professional experience required; excellent software development skills. Previous consulting experience is a plus
• Ability to meet client travel requirements as needed
• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics from a reputable four-year university
