Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking an Application Analyst to join the Epic team. The role involves installing, configuring, and supporting Epic applications, ensuring successful go-lives, and training users across ambulatory and inpatient workflows.

The ideal candidate has Epic certification in ambulatory or orders and 3+ years of related experience, with strong analytical skills and proficiency in desktop tools. On-site support across Montefiore facilities is expected.

Qualifications

  • Epic certification in Ambulatory or Orders required.
  • 3+ years of clinical or business experience.
  • Full life cycle of implementation with go-live support.
  • Strong knowledge of inpatient and ambulatory workflows.
  • Behavioral Health, Social Work, and Primary Care experience preferred.
  • Strong desktop skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure applications; provide go-live and rollout support.
  • Provide training and 24x7 on-call support for users.
  • Analyze needs; create system specifications from user requirements.
  • Create test plans; document outcomes of testing; monitor issues.
  • Collaborate with providers and operations to gather requirements and improve workflows.
  • Coordinate vendor activities; liaise with Montefiore Technology for escalations.

Montefiore is actively investing in its technology teams as a system-level priority, and we are seeking an Application Analyst to join our Epic team.

Responsibilities
  • Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings.
  • Provide go-live and rollout support.
  • Provide training and support for end userson new applications, modules, and functionality.
  • Provide application troubleshooting support for the application(s). Resolve the issue, forward it to the correct group for remediation, or elevate it to the vendor if required.
  • Assist with determining how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users.
    • Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements.
    • Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system.
    • Create system specifications from user requirements.
  • Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modification. Document all outcomes of testing.
  • Design database queries and create reports utilizing a report-writing tool.
  • Monitor application issues and evaluate issues as they arise.
  • Write and maintain accurate and current documentation regarding application(s) supported by the team. Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users.
  • Provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis. Work with the help desk and support personnel on escalated issues to identify problems and resolve them. Triage network, hardware, or workstation issues as required.
  • On an as-needed basis, provide on-site support within the Montefiore Medical Center hospitals and/or its’ affiliates (on-site, rotational support).
  • Analyze necessary application modifications and work with the appropriate Montefiore Technology associate or the vendor to coordinate the modification.
  • Function as a liaison to the vendor for MontefioreTechnology.
    • Contact vendor to report escalations and obtain assistance with solving issues.
    • Assist with the coordination of vendor activities including hardware or software installation.
  • Optimize ambulatory and primary care clinical workflows, including documentation, orders, In Basket messaging, health maintenance, and visit workflows.
  • Participate in governance review, change control processes, and release management.
  • Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and operational leaders to gather requirements and improve workflows.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Epic certification in Ambulatory or Orders is required.
  • Solid knowledge of inpatient and ambulatory workflows.
  • Experience with Behavioral Health, Social Work and Primary Care specialties is preferred.
  • 3+ years of related clinical or business experience.
  • Application/System implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience.
  • Full life cycle of implementation with go-live support experience.
  • Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
