A leading staffing company is seeking an Application Administrator responsible for the administration and operational support of key business platforms in the banking sector. This role includes oversight of application configurations, system troubleshooting, and collaboration with IT teams to ensure optimal performance and integration of enterprise applications. This role involves the administration and operational support of key business platforms used throughout the organization—including those tied to core financial processing, customer relationships, digital document workflows, automated account opening, RPA solutions, and proprietary software. The person in this role will focus on system availability, performance optimization, routine upgrades, and cross-functional initiatives involving application enhancements or new implementations.
Key Functions
Application Oversight
- Set up, configure, and maintain major enterprise platforms supporting core banking operations.
- Monitor system uptime and ensure consistent, reliable performance.
- Manage periodic version upgrades and deployments for assigned applications.
Technical Troubleshooting & Support
- Act as the primary go-to for resolving issues within supported platforms.
- Collaborate with IT teams and third-party vendors as necessary to resolve escalated issues.
System Integration & Automation
- Integrate tools across internal infrastructure and custom-developed environments.
- Use automation tools and scheduling systems to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Establish and maintain exception handling processes to flag failed tasks or missed schedules.
Documentation & Auditing
- Keep records of technical environments, application configurations, and support procedures.
- Track system usage metrics and performance trends.
- Assist with audits and ensure risk controls are supported.
- Join Agile ceremonies when necessary to write and refine user stories tied to application features.
- Translate business requirements into technical configuration or updates.
- Support project deliverables as part of multi-departmental initiatives.
- Update IT ticketing system with resolutions and service documentation.
- Escalate unresolved or critical issues to leadership as needed.
- Contribute to team meetings and adhere to organizational security protocols.
Availability & Special Projects
- Rotate into on-call responsibilities to maintain system support coverage.
- Take on assigned projects and miscellaneous responsibilities when required.
Required Experience and Background
- 3–5 years in enterprise application or systems administration
- Experience in the banking or credit union sector, especially with Jack Henry tools
- Familiarity with platforms such as Symitar, Terafina, OpCon, and RPA frameworks
- Strong grasp of SQL and scripting (PowerShell or Python preferred)
- Understanding of architectural principles and IT infrastructure fundamentals
Preferred Skills & Traits
- Strong diagnostic instincts with a solution-focused mindset
- Customer-service orientation in technical environments
- Past exposure to financial industry policies or compliance expectations
Education & Certification
- Associate’s degree in IT, business, or a related technical field required
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent work/education mix preferred
- Certifications related to enterprise application administration are a plus
