Job Description

Instructors are responsible for teaching classes, creating and maintaining assignments, evaluative measures, and records, communicating effectively with students and the department chair, engaging in department-related activities, and supporting the college's mission, vision, and core values.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Working knowledge of the trade being taught, including relevant software or hardware.
• Basic computing skills, verbal communication, organizational skills, and the ability to perceive student understanding.
• Ability to work independently, convey subject material effectively, grade promptly, adjust instruction level as needed, and develop syllabi based on provided templates.

Essential Functions

• Teach scheduled classes and required subject material.
• Grade homework, tests, and labs.
• Develop and submit syllabus by the end of the first week.
• Report attendance and final grades timely.
• Maintain a clean and orderly classroom and labs.
• Utilize required textbooks, workbooks, and lab exercises.

Other Characteristics

• Maintain a professional and positive attitude, be proactive, responsive, and efficient in addressing questions and issues.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school.
• Certified Journeyman with no degree or ten+ years of related experience. Higher degrees may waive experience requirements.
