Job summary

LMI Government Consulting seeks a Database Administrator to support Army ACWS on the Appian Platform, ensuring database health, security, performance, availability, and reliability across environments.

The role requires 3+ years of enterprise DB experience, Oracle/SQL Server expertise, STIG compliance knowledge, and collaboration with Appian teams. Tysons, remote work option, and DoD mission context are involved.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of database administration for enterprise or mission-critical systems.
• Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server.
• Expert in performance tuning, backup/recovery, high availability, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with database security, patching, hardening, and STIG compliance.
• SQL, schema design, data modeling, query optimization, and migrations.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain database health across ACWS environments.
• Perform proactive maintenance, tuning, capacity planning, and health monitoring.
• Design schemas, data models, indexes, and migration strategies.
• Support security, hardening, patching, access controls, and DoD/STIG compliance.
• Manage backup, recovery, high availability, and DR procedures.
• Troubleshoot errors, performance issues, connectivity, and data discrepancies.
• Support Appian teams with SQL development and data troubleshooting.
• Coordinate deployment, configuration, monitoring, and patching with DevSecOps.
• Assist data migrations, upgrades, and schema changes with minimal impact.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Participate in incident response, RCA, and problem management.
• Contribute to Agile planning and release communications.
