Job Description:

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking numerous candidates to fill multiple-level Appian Developer roles on a new contract to support the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and their critical mission needs.

The FDA is the federal agency responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation’s food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation. The FDA also advances public health by helping to speed innovations that make medicines and foods more effective, safer, and more affordable, and by providing the public with accurate, science-based information for health decisions.

As an Appian Developer involved in all phases of the development life cycle, you will participate in design sessions, both from custom code and architecture perspectives.

HOW AN APPIAN DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Design and develop fully automated software delivery pipelines.
  • Collaborate within and across agile teams to maximize productivity.
  • Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and participate in agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Eliminate roadblocks and hindrances to team delivery.
  • Assist in documenting and leveraging cloud and DevOps best practices, including testing cycles with attention to detail.
  • Collaborate on testing, develop UI QA standards, and communicate effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure QA processes are followed and environments remain uncompromised.
  • Review and provide feedback on test scripts.
  • Coordinate testing efforts with team members.
  • Work with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into Appian designs.
  • Develop custom Appian solutions, integrate with other systems and databases, perform unit testing, and troubleshoot applications.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and stay updated on Appian features.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • 5+ years of Appian development experience, preferably within BPM.
  • Appian Level 1 or 2 Certification.
  • Experience with Agile, Java, APIs, Web Services, and integrations.
  • Proficient with Appian BPM and complex SQL databases.
  • Experience managing project backlogs, schedules, and delivering high-quality work on time.
  • Experience integrating with external systems.
  • Ability to scope Appian projects.

The salary range is $110,614 - $149,500, based on experience, location, and contractual factors.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Travel Required: Less than 10%
