Job summary

MACHINE LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES LLC in McLean, VA is seeking an experienced Appian Administrator to lead the migration of Appian applications from on-prem Linux to AWS EKS. You will administer Appian environments, manage deployments, and collaborate with DevOps and cloud engineers to design, implement, and stabilize a containerized Appian solution in AWS.

This role focuses on performance tuning, security, and documentation, with responsibilities spanning from setting up Docker containers and Helm

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Appian Administrator (21.x or later)
• Experience migrating Appian from on-prem to containerized/cloud environments (preferably AWS EKS)
• Strong understanding of Linux administration, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and AWS services (ECR, S3, IAM, CloudWatch)
• Experience integrating Appian with LDAP, SSO, SMTP, databases and secrets management
• Kubernetes pods, Webhooks/Controllers
• Familiarity with Appian automation, CI/CD pipelines and plugin management
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
• Experience with EFS, ASM (Amazon secret manager), Appian operator/CRD
• CloudFormation Templates, Terraform

Responsibilities

• Manage, configure, and maintain multiple Appian environments (on-prem and cloud)
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security and DevOps teams to plan and execute migration from on-prem to AWS EKS
• Set up and manage Appian Docker containers, and Helm configurations
• Oversee installation, patching, upgrades and hotfixes of Appian versions
• Coordinate database migrations (DB2 to PostgreSQL)
• Ensure application and plugin compatibility post-migration
• Work with InfoSec for image scanning, vulnerability remediation, and compliance approvals
• Support performance tuning, monitoring and troubleshooting across environments
• Create and maintain detailed runbooks, SOPs, and architecture documentation
