Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree and 3+ years appellate attorney experience or the equivalent.
• U.S. citizenship and New York State residency required on the first day of employment.
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively under deadlines.
• Must be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and strong ethics.
• Ability to analyze issues from inception to conclusion.

Responsibilities

• Represent the People of the State of New York in appellate litigation on a wide range of constitutional and statutory law issues.
• Address complex legal issues clearly and effectively in oral and written format.
• Brief and argue a substantial caseload of appeals before the state and federal courts.
• All other duties as assigned.
