Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking an Appeals Assistant for the Atlantic Region CBO. The role entails timely submission of medical records and appeals documentation to third party recipients, plus data entry and account follow-up tasks.

You will perform scanning, forms completion, and maintain accurate documentation while contributing to department productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong data entry skills.
• Customer focused with attention to detail; able to multi-task and communicate effectively.

Atlantic Region Central Billing Office (“ARCBO”) or (“CBO”) provides business office services including billing, collections, cash posting, pre-access management, variance, and customer service to our affiliated Universal Health Services hospitals.

Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Appeals Assistant.

The Appeals Assistant is responsible for the timely submission of medical records and appeals documentation to third party recipients.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for submitting medical records and appeals documentation in a timely and efficient manner.
• Scanning items received via mail/fax
• Filling out third party forms
• Assists with the follow-up of patient accounts as needed
• Properly documents the patient account with actions taken
• Meet productivity standards and departmental goals and objectives
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years healthcare experience preferred.

Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Strong data entry skills

Customer focused both internally and externally, strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, strong 10 key data entry, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

Familiarity with appeals a plus
