Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods in Atlanta is seeking a Team Captain – Apparel to lead the Apparel department, coach teammates, and drive sales while ensuring athletes feel confident in their selections. You will work with store leadership to develop plans, hire and onboard staff, and deliver an exceptional customer experience on the floor.

The role requires strong leadership, coaching abilities, and a customer-first mindset, with opportunities for growth within the store and across the chain.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in retail.
• Previous retail/customer-facing experience required.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by providing product information and maintaining merchandising standards.
• Collaborate with store leadership to develop 30-60-90 day plans for department priorities and budgets.
• Communicate goals to staff, assign workloads, and optimize schedules to meet traffic and payroll targets.
• Build a strong team through recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
• Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures and ensure policy compliance.
