Job summary

Kroger is seeking a store associate in Issaquah, WA to create an outstanding customer experience and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding QA standards and Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
• Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products in the department and store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
• Adhere to health and civil codes.
• Model excellent customer service with friendliness and a clean department.
• Demonstrate creative merchandising.
• Keep displays stocked and conditioned per standards.
• Be aware of arrival dates of products.
• Maintain workload to meet production deadlines.
• Process bulletins, announcements and special programs to aid sales.
• Complete paperwork per company policy.
• Follow merchandising, customer service, cash, labor, expense and safety controls.
• Promote sales through intercom announcements.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks or illegal activity.
