Job summary
New Balance is seeking a Tech Design/Developer in Boston to interpret design concepts, develop detailed technical specs, and work with internal and external teams to craft cutting-edge apparel. A self-starter with strong pattern-making skills and a drive for innovation will thrive.
You will lead patterns and fit standards across product lines, collaborating with designers, engineers and manufacturers, and using CLO/Browzwear for 3D development to deliver high-quality results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of technical design experience with 3–5 years in 3D product creation.
- Deep knowledge of pattern making, grading and construction across performance and fashion.
- Proficiency with 3D tools (CLO, Browzwear), Gerber Accumark, PLM, Illustrator and office programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine patterns for various product types with technical accuracy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, engineers and manufacturing to move concepts to production.
- Utilize 3D design and prototyping tools to test concepts and ensure quality.
- Understand manufacturing processes to ensure feasible designs.
- Establish and evolve fit, sizing, Make and Craft standards for consistency and efficiency.
- Apply knowledge of apparel trends to deliver functional, comfortable and stylish products.
