Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is hiring for a donation processing/retail associate. No experience is required; you will sort donated clothing, identify high-value items, stock the floor, and keep areas clean and safe.

This role emphasizes physical activity, teamwork, and a commitment to Goodwill’s mission. Starting pay is $15/hour with annual merit raises and bonuses; full-time benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• No experience necessary—strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Attention to detail when sorting items for quality and value.
• Physically able to stand, bend, lift, and move bins of clothing.
• Reliable, responsible, and respectful team players.
• Committed to personal growth, teamwork, and Goodwill’s mission.
• Regularly lifting up to 10 pounds, sometimes up to 50 pounds; active duties.

Responsibilities

• Sort donated clothing to meet quality standards.
• Identify and separate higher-value clothing for special handling.
• Organize sellable and unsellable items into the correct bins.
• Track daily production counts and maintain records.
• Hang and group clothing using color rotation system.
• Stock or remove clothing from the sales floor as needed.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and compliant with procedures.
• Support other roles as needed (donation processor, hanger, cashier).
• Report theft, safety, or security concerns to management.
