Job summary

Design Observer Group is seeking a Production Manager to support development and production of clothing collections. You will work closely with the Creative Director to move garments from concept through sampling, manufacturing, quality control, and final delivery.

The role requires hands‑on organization, strong communication with vendors and internal teams, and the ability to manage multiple styles, materials, deadlines, and production details with balance of creativity and operational

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in apparel production or related field.
• Ability to read tech packs and garment specifications.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Fashion Designer throughout development and production.
• Coordinate development from concepts and specs through final production.
• Communicate with patternmakers, fabric suppliers, trim vendors, manufacturers, and vendors.
• Track samples, revisions, approvals, purchase orders, schedules, and delivery timelines.
• Review samples and coordinate feedback on fit, construction, materials, color, trims, and finishing.
• Maintain production documents including tech packs, bills of materials, size specs, colorways, and revision notes.
• Assist with sourcing fabrics, trims, labels, packaging, and other components.
• Monitor milestones and identify delays, quality issues, or cost concerns.
• Ensure garments meet approved designs, specs, quality standards, and brand guidelines.
• Coordinate fit sessions, sample reviews, approvals, and production handoffs.
• Coordinate quality control inspections during production.
• Maintain records of samples, materials, vendor info, costs, timelines, and status.
• Support inventory planning and ensure material availability.
• Assist with costing, quantity planning, and production budgets.
• Coordinate final checks, packing, shipping details, and delivery schedules.
• Provide regular production updates to the Lead Designer and stakeholders.
