Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE VALLEY WORKS INC is seeking a Part-Time NonProduction Associate in Danville, VA to assist with apparel handling, tagging, and processing donations on the sales floor and in the backroom.

Under close supervision, you will maintain a neat processing area, meet productivity goals, and provide world-class donor and customer service while adhering to safety and store policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, team members, customers, and donors.
• Ability to work within a team situation.
• Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude.
• Ability to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Hang apparel and tag or hang apparel onto racks by category.
• Assist with quality control assurance (tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, and missing buttons).
• Maintain accurate count with the goal of 60+ pieces per hour.
• Always maintain the processing area in a neat and clean condition.
• Ensure positive donor and customer interaction by providing world class customer service.
• Demonstrate the principles of DURT with every donor interaction and use the DURT Alert system.
• Adhere to all Goodwill policies and procedures.
• Follow safety and security practices including reporting hazards and injuries to the Manager on Duty.
• Attend in-service related training as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
