Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
• Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
• Adhere to health and civil codes.
• Model customer service, maintain a clean and orderly department.
• Demonstrate creative merchandising.
• Keep displays stocked and conditioned according to standards.
• Be aware of arrival dates of products.
• Maintain workload to guarantee production deadlines.
• Complete paperwork per company policy.
• Ensure all merchandising, customer service, cash control, labor and safety rules are followed.
• Promote sales through intercom announcements.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Notify management of accidents.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
