Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides care to patients in various settings, including acute, short-term, and long-term care. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, assessing patients, and treating injuries and ailments. The NP obtains medical histories, conducts examinations, analyzes information, and collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop diagnoses and treatment plans. The role involves prescribing medications, maintaining detailed records, referring patients to specialists, providing health education, and possibly covering hospital consultations and procedures. The NP conducts research, incorporates evidence-based practices, and stays updated on legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s, post-master’s, or doctorate degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Current licensure by the state board of nursing and DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances.
• Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C or FNP-BC).
