Department Details: APP experience required. This position includes a weekend rotation, one weekend out of every four, and a holiday rotation.

Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides services to patients in designated care settings, including acute, short-term, and long-term care. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, assessing patients, and treating injuries and ailments.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist physicians, assess patients, and treat injuries and ailments in various care settings.
  2. Obtain thorough medical histories and perform examinations or assessments as appropriate.
  3. Analyze and interpret collected information to develop diagnoses.
  4. Coordinate care by rounding on patients when necessary.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers and work independently to provide care.
  6. Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications legally authorized, considering efficacy, safety, and cost.
  7. Maintain detailed and timely patient records.
  8. Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
  9. Provide health promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention information to patients and families.
  10. Cover hospital consultations, rounding, and assist with procedures as needed.
  11. Conduct research and incorporate evidence-based practices to improve patient care.
  12. Stay current with state regulations, reimbursement policies, and healthcare systems.
Qualifications
  • Master’s, post-master’s, or doctorate degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
  • Current licensure by the state board of nursing for advanced practice.
  • DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) or (FNP-BC).
  • Recent clinical experience or recent graduation from an accredited program.
