Job summary

MercyOne in Des Moines is seeking a board-certified NP/PA to join our pediatric urgent care team part-time. You will treat acute illnesses and injuries on-site with access to on-site lab and x-ray for rapid diagnosis.

Weekend hours are available; duties include treating minor lacerations and simple fractures, and newborn jaundice checks in the first days after discharge. We offer a bonus up to $10,000 and are an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Must have primary care or urgent care experience.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Board-certified NP/PA with unrestricted Iowa license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Treat pediatric illnesses and injuries on-site.
• Provide on-site or same-day lab and x-ray for rapid diagnosis.
• Treat minor lacerations and simple fractures.
• Perform weekend newborn jaundice checks in the first days after discharge.

Employment Type: Part time

Extended weekday and weekend hours

Onsite or same-day lab and x-ray to assist in rapid diagnosis

Ready and able to treat minor lacerations and simple fractures

Numbing gel for suturing

Weekend newborn jaundice (bilirubin) checks for newborns in the first few days after discharge

Qualifications

• Primary Care or Urgent Care experience preferred
• Board Certified NP/PA
• Hold and unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
• Experience Strongly Preferred
• Eligible to work in the United States
