Job summary

MercyOne Iowa seeks a BC/BE Pediatric Hospitalist to join its Des Moines team. This 1.0 FTE role covers well-baby nursery and the pediatric medical-surgical unit at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, with a mix of in-person and on-call shifts.

• Provide inpatient pediatric care in the well-baby nursery and pediatric medical-surgical unit.
• Collaborate with MercyOne Des Moines team to deliver high-quality pediatric care.
• Lead and participate in teaching Residents and Medical Students.

MercyOne Des Moines is composed of 4 central/southern Iowa Hospitals totaling 875 beds and managing 16 rural Hospitals. MercyOne Children’s Hospital encompasses an 8-bed PICU, 62-bed Level III NICU, a level 2 trauma 12 bed Pediatric ED, a 22-bed Medical Surgical Unit, and is supported by several subspecialties including Cardiology, Neurology, Surgery and Gastroenterology. Additionally, MercyOne Medical Center has a tertiary service of 1.5 million and its maternity care includes 15 dedicated labor suites and 40 private postpartum rooms.
