OrthoCarolina Spine Center in Charlotte is seeking a Physician Assistant to support a Spine Surgeon. You will examine patients, order and interpret tests, perform procedures, and assist in the operating room, delivering comprehensive orthopedic care.

The role requires graduation from an AMA-accredited PA program, NC PA licensure, and NCCPA certification; orthopedic experience is preferred. On-site position with competitive benefits and professional support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program.
• Current North Carolina PA license.
• Certification by NCCPA.
• Prior experience in orthopedics or surgical specialties preferred.

Responsabilités

• Examine patients, compile medical data, and health history.
• Administer or order diagnostics and interpret results with surgeons.
• Perform injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Assist in operating room and provide continuity of care planning.
• Dictate records including discharge summaries and operative notes.
• Round on inpatients and provide ER/floor consultations as directed.

Responsibilities may include assisting the physician in both the office and hospital setting, independent clinics seeing patients with a variety of orthopedic injuries and illnesses, assisting in the operating room as needed.Essential Functions:Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons/staff.Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection. Assesses, applies and/or removes a variety of orthopedic casts, splints, and immobilization devices.Serves as assist-at-surgery for orthopedic procedures.Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, applies appropriate codes and charges for service, and assists in provision of continuity of care.Dictates patient records including discharge summaries, history and physical evaluations, operative procedure notes, consultations and office visit notes. Documents patient information and care provided in patient record.
