Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to support the General Surgery service across Bellevue Medical Center, including inpatient floors, the ED, and the OR. The roles require acute care certification and strong autonomy within a collaborative team.

The positions are full-time, first shift, with call coverage from home once weekly and a monthly weekend call; 6% tier pay is added to base salary. Nebraska Medicine offers development funds and CME support.

Qualifications

• Must hold Master’s degree in nursing and an active RN license (Nebraska/compact).
• APRN licensure required with any position-specific certification (Adult Outpatient ANP-BC, Family FNP-BC).
• Ability to function autonomously within a team and make independent decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for abdominal and GI conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Evaluate emergent conditions (obstruction, perforation, hemorrhage) and plan interventions.
• Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic medical/surgical procedures.

Education

Master's degree in nursing

Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license

Two years RN experience (or equivalent RN to APRN experience)

APRN certification based on position (Adult Outpatient/Family)
