Job summary

Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, ME, is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) for our Emergency Department. Join a collaborative team with board-certified ED physicians and fellow APPs to manage a diverse range of acute cases in a rural, 25-bed facility.

Ideal candidates are trained PA or NP with current PA-C or NP credentials, ME license eligibility, ACLS and PALS, and ED experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) program.
  • Current national certification as PA-C or NP (FNP/ACNP).
  • Active, unrestricted ME license or eligibility.
  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications.
  • Preferred: ATLS certification.
  • Preferred: ED APP experience in high-volume setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in the ED.
  • Collaborate with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and specialists.
  • Order and interpret tests, develop treatments, and perform ED procedures.
  • Stabilize and transfer patients as needed.
  • Maintain clear communication and accurate documentation.
  • Shifts are available 24/7/365.

Redington-Fairview General Hospital (RFGH), a 25-bed critical access hospital and a 2025 "Best Place to Work in Maine" award recipient, is seeking an experienced preferred Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for aFull-timeposition in our Emergency Department. This is an excellent opportunity to practice high-quality rural emergency medicine as a vital member of our collaborative team. Our 24/7 Emergency Department serves over 30,000 residents across Somerset County. You will work alongside our supportive team of board-certified emergency physicians and fellow APPs to manage a diverse and engaging mix of cases, making a direct impact on our community. Our department is equipped with a state-of-the-art central monitoring system and a helipad for rapid LifeFlight transfers, ensuring our team can provide the highest level of care possible in a rural setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • ? Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages presenting with a wide variety of acute illnesses and injuries.
  • ? Work in close collaboration with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and specialists.
  • ? Order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, and perform procedures appropriate for the emergency setting.
  • ? Stabilize and prepare patients for transfer to tertiary care facilities as needed.
  • ? Ensure clear communication with patients and families and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
  • ? Shifts are available 24/7/365
Qualifications
  • ? Required: Graduate of an accredited Physician Associate(PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) program.
  • ? Required: Current national certification as a Physician Associate (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (FNP or ACNP).
  • ? Required: Must possess or be eligible to obtain an active, unrestricted license in the State of Maine.
  • ? Required: Current certification in ACLS and PALS
  • ? Preferred: Significant clinical experience as an APP in an emergency department or high-volume urgent care setting.
  • ? Preferred: Current ATLS certification.
