Job summary

UW Medical Center-Montlake seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to work in the Emergency Department's Fast-Track and high-acuity streams. You will join an inter-professional team including attendings, residents, pharmacists, and nurses, providing autonomous assessment and procedures.

Qualifications

• Current and unencumbered ARNP or PA license in Washington.
• WA RN license to practice (or MSL) for ARNP.
• Graduated from an accredited nursing or PA program.
• Board certified; ARNP via ANCC/AAPP; PA via NCCPA.
• ED fellowship training or equivalent ED/urgent care experience.
• PA candidates: Emergency Medicine CAQ.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Equivalent education/experience allowed unless prohibited by law.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat acute and minor illnesses and injuries in the ED.
• Serve as backup for Campus Health for exposures/injuries.
• Function independently in the vertical care area.
• Perform minor procedures (lacerations, I&D, splints, etc.).
• Assess emergent/urgent complaints for complexity and stability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary ED team and Attending physicians.
• Coordinate care with academic Emergency Medicine to care for diverse patients.

Our Emergency Department at UW Medical Center-Montlake has an opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider to see patients in the Fast-Track stream of care as well as exposing them to high acuity challenging patients.

The ED Advanced Practice Provider is a member of the inter-professional team that includes attending physicians, residents, pharmacists, medical and pharmacy students and registered nurses.

Description

• Evaluate and treat acute and minor illnesses and injuries presenting to the ED.
• Serve as backup for Campus Health for employees with blood-borne exposures or job-related injury.
• Function independently in our vertical care area.
• Minor procedures including but not limited to laceration repair, incision and drainage of abscesses, splint applications, etc.
• Proficient assessment of emergent/urgent complaints to determine complexity and stability of patients.
• Functioning as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team within the Emergency Department.
• Close collaboration with academic Emergency Medicine attending physicians to provide excellent care to a complex patient population at our tertiary referral center.

Schedule

Requirements

• Current and unencumbered license as an Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP)ORPhysician Assistants (PA) in the state of Washington
• ARNP must have a WA state RN license to practice or MSL
• Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing (ARNP) or a accredited program for Physician Assistant studies (PA)
• Must be board certified; ARNP certified by ANCC or AAPP; PA certified from NCCAP
• ED Fellowship trained or equivalent ED/Urgent Care experience.
• PA candidates: Emergency Medicine CAQ
• BLS,ACLS and PALS certification.
• Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
