Job summary

Florida Cancer Affiliates/Ocala Oncology Center seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner with oncology experience to join our Ocala team. The position involves rounding at local hospitals Monday through Friday and hospital coverage as part of a collaborative APP group.

Qualifications

  • Nurse Practitioner with MSN from an accredited nursing school and completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Physician Assistant with NCCPA certification and PA licensure in practicing state.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist with MSN and CNS program completion; current license and CPR/BLS.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
  • Initiate and document interventions; evaluate patient/family response and prescribe therapies as indicated.
  • Perform procedures after appropriate training.
  • Educate patients and families on needs and resources.
  • Promote wellness and connect to community resources.
  • Incorporate evidence-based research into practice.
  • Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation.
  • May provide case management for patients and families.
  • Rounding at affiliated hospitals and after-hours calls.

Florida Cancer Affiliates/Ocala Oncology Center is hiring
a F/T, Nurse Practitioner's With Oncology Experience

Scope

Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures after appropriate training.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Incorporates the developing knowledge of evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • Developing knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • May provide case management for patients and their families, given limited knowledge of community resources.
  • May promote/provide staff education
  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hour calls.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. This position is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years post MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • OR Physician Assistant Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification. This position is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • OR Clinical Nurse Specialist Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program. This position is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of post-MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
