Job summary

Florida Cancer Affiliates/Ocala Oncology Center is hiring full-time Nurse Practitioners with oncology experience, working M-F with a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Positions involve collaboration with physicians, potential telemedicine, and care across clinic settings.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning and implementing care, documenting interventions, and patient education, with a focus on oncology care and adherence to governing standards.

Qualifications

  • MSN from an accredited nursing school and completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current RN licensure and registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner licensure and active practice state license.
  • Physician Assistant licensure and/or certification (PA-C) as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
  • Initiate interventions and document responses; prescribe therapies as indicated.
  • Perform procedures after appropriate training.
  • Provide education to patients and families; promote wellness.

a F/T, Nurse Practitioner's with Oncology Experience

Scope:

Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures after appropriate training.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Incorporates the developing knowledge of evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • Developing knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • May provide case management for patients and their families, given limited knowledge of community resources.
  • May promote/provide staff education
  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hour calls.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Nurse Practitioner Masters of Sciencein Nursing (MSN) fromanaccredited nursingschooland successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. This position is entry-level andtypicallyrequiresaminimumof0-3years post MSN experience, preferablyinthe chosen specialty. RN state licensureand current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure asaNurse Practitioner.Currentbasic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required. OR Physician Assistant Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.This position is entry-level andtypicallyrequires 0-3yearsofexperience as a practicing Physician Assistant,preferably inthe chosen specialty. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Currentbasic life support(BLS)/CPR certification required.
