Job summary

Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS) in Houston, TX seeks an Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Engineering Intern to monitor and diagnose equipment performance using predictive analytics software. You will support thermal performance analysis for critical power generation systems and collaborate with engineers on data-driven decisions.

Qualified applicants are enrolled in an BS/MS program in engineering or related fields with a 3.0 GPA minimum (3.5 preferred).

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited BS/MS program in Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, or a related field.
• GPA: Minimum 3.0; 3.5 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize APR software to assess plant equipment conditions and triage issues, recommending actions.
• Develop, tune, and implement APR models in Prometheus APM to monitor performance and predict component health.
• Alert SMEs and station personnel to anomalies affecting reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to monitor thermal performance of power generation systems.
• Analyze data, create advanced visualizations, and summarize findings to influence decisions and quantify avoided costs.
• Work with reliability analysts to enhance decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with leaders to resolve ambiguous problems and drive clarity in decisions.
• Develop and deliver a comprehensive end-of-summer presentation to the CEO summarizing key projects and actionable recommendations.
