Job summary

IntePros is seeking an experienced API Test Engineer to ensure API reliability and data integrity across complex integrations. You will design and execute tests, develop Python-based automation, and validate JSON payloads, HTTP status codes, and database updates.

You should be proficient with SQL, REST APIs, and end-to-end data workflows, with a collaborative mindset to partner with development teams on quality improvements and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software quality engineering or testing experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with API testing and application integrations.
• Ability to independently create, execute, and maintain test cases.
• Proficiency with Python scripting and test automation.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and database validation.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods, and status codes.
• Experience validating complex end-to-end data processing workflows.

Responsibilities

IntePros is seeking an experienced API Test Engineer to join a high-visibility technology initiative supporting a complex, data-driven platform. This role will focus on ensuring the quality and reliability of APIs, system integrations, and end-to-end data workflows through both manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on API testing, Python automation, and SQL experience and is comfortable tracing data across multiple integrated systems.

What You’ll Do

• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and performance testing for APIs and system integrations.
• Perform positive, negative, boundary, and error-handling testing for REST APIs.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts with a strong focus on Python-based automation.
• Test end-to-end workflows involving APIs, SFTP file transfers, databases, and system-generated outputs.
• Validate JSON request/response payloads, HTTP headers, methods, and status codes.
• Use SQL to validate database updates, data accuracy, and processing results.
• Trace data across multiple systems to identify integration or processing issues.
• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and communicate defects while partnering closely with development teams.
• Help expand test automation coverage and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of software quality engineering or testing experience; strong candidates with 3–4 years may also be considered.
• Strong hands-on experience with API testing and application integrations.
• Ability to independently create, execute, and maintain test cases.
• Proficiency with Python scripting and test automation.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and database validation.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE), and status codes.
• Experience validating complex end-to-end data processing workflows.
