Job summary

Perplexity is seeking engineers to advance planet-scale search APIs at scale, focusing on end-to-end ownership of critical APIs and rapid iteration from staging through canary to full fleet. You’ll work across Go, Rust, and Python, shaping how agents interact with hosted APIs and the developer experience.

You’ll collaborate with Research, Product, GTM, and customers to close gaps between builder needs and platform capabilities, emphasizing reliability, security, and fast, boring deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating distributed, high-load systems.
• Ability to explain your agentic workflow and tooling.
• Strong sense for developers and customers in API design.

Responsibilities

• Own critical APIs end to end: RFC, implement, rollout, iterate.
• Contribute to product codebases in Go, Rust, Python.
• Build surfaces agents consume: MCP, tool calling, connectors, auth flows.
• Harden platform for enterprise use: authentication, data handling, guardrails.
