Job summary

Perplexity AI, Inc. is seeking energetic engineers to join our Agents engineering team. You will work across backend, full-stack, and AI/ML to build harnesses and AI systems powering agentic experiences like the Perplexity Computer and Agent API.

You will collaborate across applied research and engineering to solve open problems in AI and advance the frontier of agent capabilities for millions of users. A strong eye for user experience and ownership will be essential.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation across the AI product stack.
• Proficiency in Python; familiarity with TypeScript/Go/Rust is a bonus.
• Experience in frontier AI models, post-training or reinforcement learning, or browser tech.

Responsibilities

• Engineer agent harnesses connecting models with environments and tools.
• Drive cutting-edge AI capabilities across a rapidly growing product in the AI agents space.
• Develop AI models, infrastructure, and browser technologies to scale capabilities for a growing user base.
• Ensure high craft and quality in AI agent performance and user experience.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, PMs, data scientists, and others to integrate Perplexity functionality into frontier products.
