Job summary

Momento USA is seeking an API Platform Developer to build and operate an automation-first API delivery platform on Apigee Edge in NYC. You will design proxies, policies, and shared flows, while automating lifecycles and governance across environments for secure, scalable API delivery.

You will enable self-service deployments, implement tollgates, and deliver observability dashboards. Strong focus on Node.js, Grunt, scripting, and API management APIs drives this role.

Qualifications

• Senior development engineer responsible for building and operating an automation-first API delivery platform on Apigee Edge.
• Experience with API proxies, policies, shared flows, and runtime troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of CI/CD modernization, self-service deployments, and governance at scale.
• Familiarity with API design (OpenAPI/Swagger) and security (OAuth2/JWT).
• Proven ability to automate deployments, governance, and rollout across environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and standardize API proxies, policies, and shared flows at scale.
• Automate API proxy lifecycles using management APIs and environment promotions.
• Coordinate multi-environment releases with environment-specific config injection.

Role Summary: Senior development engineer responsible for building and operating an automation-first API delivery platform on Apigee Edge (Non Hybrid). Focus is on secure API proxy workloads engineering plus CI/CD modernization, self-service deployments, and governance at scale using API Management APIs, Node.js, Grunt, and scripting.

• Apigee API workflow Engineering: design and standardize API proxies' development at scale, policies, shared flows, and reusable bundles.
• API Management APIs & Deployment Mechanisms (Core): automate API proxy Lifecycle using import/deploy/un deploy/redeploy, revision governance, promotion across environments, and rollback patterns via management APIs.
• Parallel Multi Environment, Multi Plant Releases orchestrate controlled, concurrent deployments with safe sequencing and environment-specific configuration injection.
• Lifecycle Governance: multi-version management, drift detection, compliance validation (policy baselines + Open API alignment), and lifecycle analytics.
• Release Safety Controls: one-click rollback, revision freeze/locks, guardrails to prevent unintended changes.
• Self Service Enablement: automated request/approval/deploy workflows and deployment failure analysis.
• Automated Tollgates: Implement automated CI/CD tollgates that validate API policy compliance, security controls, Open API/spec integrity, dependency health, and configuration drift, producing auditable pass/fail evidence and a quantified "release readiness" score
• Operational Visibility & Monitoring: dashboards and reporting for usage, quota burn, capacity, spikes; real-time anomaly alerts
• API Pipeline Modernization simplify and standardize onto Copilot-assisted Python pipelines; guardrail-driven deployments using Artifactory.

Core Skills

• Apigee Edge: Design and build Apigee proxies, shared flows, and policies (including JavaScript/Java callouts), and troubleshoot runtime issues such as latency, quota enforcement, caching behavior, and routing
• API Management APIs: deployment automation, revision strategy, promotion/rollback, deployment state interrogation, auditability.
• Automation Engineering: Node.js, Grunt, Python/PowerShell scripting, Git-based release workflows.
• CI/CD: gated promotions, approvals, artifact versioning, automated rollback, compliance enforcement.
• API Design: Open API/Swagger, contract validation, schema/version governance.
• Security: OAuth2/JWT, mTLS/cert lifecycle, HTTPS fundamentals.
• Observability: logs/metrics/analytics, alerting integrations; performance tuning mindset.
• Foundations: Linux CLI + networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, LB, firewalls).

Nice to Have

• Apigee and/or Google Cloud certifications
• Drift analyzer/compliance reporting experience
• Elastic/Splunk/Prometheus/Grafana; PagerDuty/ServiceNow integrations
• Performance/resiliency patterns; SQL/NoSQL; Kafka/Kinesis/Event Hub exposure

Work Model
