Job summary

Amivero is seeking an API Platform Operations and Automation Engineer to support the reliable operation and continuous improvement of the API platform. The role combines hands-on platform operations with technical support for API consumers and producers.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in platform engineering, is US-citizen, and can troubleshoot REST APIs, deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and work across Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm in a government-related environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting and troubleshooting REST APIs including HTTP methods, status codes, headers, JSON, auth, and gateway errors.
• Experience with API gateways or enterprise API management platforms, preferably Apigee.
• Solid knowledge of AWS and Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CI/CD and automation tools such as Jenkins, Harness, GitHub Actions.
• Proactive in documenting, runbooks, and operational playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot REST APIs, including authentication, authorization, and gateway errors.
• Provide Tier 2 technical support for API consumer/producer issues escalated by customer-support.
• Perform routine platform maintenance across AWS and Linux environments.
• Support deployments, configuration changes, troubleshooting, and recovery activities.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Harness, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
