Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Systems Engineer Platform to design, secure, and optimize enterprise API platforms. You will manage API gateways (Apigee X and Kong), define standards, and drive observability and reliability across cloud and on-prem environments.

Responsibilities include IaC automation with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and implementing OAuth2/JWT/SAML security. Join a team focused on modernization and developer experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software engineering or platform development with cloud-native architecture.
• 2+ years API management using Apigee and Kong, including proxy development and security.
• RESTful and event-driven API design with Java/Python services.
• Experience with GCP services and Apigee X deployment.
• Strong API security and compliance knowledge (PCI/SOC2/HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure, high-performance APIs for distributed systems.
• Manage API gateways (Apigee X, Kong) across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Automate infra with Terraform and build CI/CD pipelines for proxies and configurations.
• Implement security controls (OAuth2, JWT, SAML, API keys) and ensure compliance.
• Monitor performance with Prometheus/Grafana and optimize latency and reliability.
• Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, and security teams; mentor engineers.
