Job summary

Acuren is seeking certified API 510/653 inspectors with NACE II to support operations across West, TX. The Visual Inspector will examine materials, welds, and components for conformity with codes and client specs, and prepare detailed reports of findings.

Level II inspectors identify discontinuities and may train Level I personnel, with emphasis on procedures and quality assurance. Travel is required with 6-10s shifts and a per diem of 7 days on worked weeks; candidates should have API 510/653

Qualifications

• API 510/653 inspection expertise
• NACE II certification
• Experience with petrochemical facilities or similar environments
• Strong report writing and documentation skills
• Knowledge of ASME/API standards and QA

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and non-destructive examination of pressure retaining equipment per API/ASME standards
• Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition
• Provide technical recommendations for repairs or alterations to ensure safe operation
• Assist in welding/metallurgical discussions and NDE procedure guidance
• Adhere to client and company safety practices and participate in site safety initiatives
• Travel to client sites as required

Position Summary

Acuren is currently seeking certified API 510/653 inspectors with NACE 2 to support our operations across West, TX

The Visual Inspector API 510/653 conducts visual examinations independently and evaluates materials, welds, and components for conformity with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications. This role involves interpreting procedures, recording detailed results, and reporting findings. Level II inspectors are expected to identify discontinuities, determine acceptability within defined criteria, and assist in training Level I personnel. They demonstrate a solid understanding of inspection techniques, documentation practices, and quality assurance requirements.

Schedule: 6-10\'s with rotational time off (TBD)

7 days perdiem on worked weeks

Responsibilities

• At the direction of client, perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
• Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition
• Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client
• Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues
• Provide technical guidance, on a application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures
• Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives
• Willingness to travel if needed

Requirements

• Certification of American Petroleum Institute Standards 510 and 653
• NACE II required
• Valid CWI preferred
• 6 years’ experience or 4+ years on site experience
• Certification of American Petroleum Institute Standards 510/653
• In-depth working knowledge of API 510/653 and ASME standards
• Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers
