Job summary

Acuren is seeking a Visual Inspector - API 510/653 with NDT experience to support operations in Raleigh, NC. This is a callout/travel position requiring travel to client sites as needed.

You will perform visual and non-destructive examination of pressure retaining equipment according to API/ASME standards, submit detailed reports, and provide technical recommendations for repairs, re-rating, or alterations to ensure safe operation.

Qualifications

• API 510/653 certification is required.
• 5–10 years’ field experience or 2+ years on site in related plants.
• API 570 or CWI certification is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of API 510/653 and ASME standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and NDT inspection of pressure-retaining equipment per API/ASME standards.
• Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
• Provide recommendations for repair, re-rating, replacement, or alteration for safe operation.
• Assist welding and metallurgical issues with technical input.
• Provide guidance on applying NDT techniques and procedures.
• Adhere to all safety practices and participate in site safety initiatives.

Position Summary

Acuren is currently recruiting for a Visual Inspector - API 510/653 w/NDT to support operations in Raleigh, NC. THIS WILL BE A CALLOUT/TRAVEL POSITION.

Responsibilities

• At the direction of client, perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
• Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition
• Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client
• Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues
• Provide technical guidance, on a application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures
• Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives
• Willingness to travel if needed

Requirements

• Certification of American Petroleum Institute Standards 510/653
• 5 – 10 years’ experience or 2+ years on site experience
• Additional API 570 or CWI a plus
• In-depth working knowledge of API 510/653 and ASME standards
• Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers
