Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an Apheresis Registered Nurse to join our Elmhurst, Illinois team. The RN will provide direct patient care across multiple apheresis modalities in hospital or outpatient settings, following FMCNA policies and procedures.

The role requires at least one year of RN experience, state licensure, and collaboration with physicians and hospital staff to ensure safe, efficient treatments while maintaining patient confidentiality and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which employed.
• Certification in Apheresis Nursing is highly encouraged.
• Peripheral vein cannulation abilities preferred.
• Maintains acquired knowledge and remains current in advancements of therapeutic apheresis, relative to inpatient care for hospitalized patients requiring varied treatment modalities.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in multiple modalities including apheresis.
• Performs scheduled, unscheduled and emergency Apheresis treatments and other extra-corporeal therapies.
• Maintains infection control and safety practices.
• Documents treatment information and adverse events in patient records.
• Collaborates with hospital staff and physicians to deliver quality care.
• Travels between facilities to support patient treatments as needed.
• Assists with equipment setup, maintenance, and supply management.
