Job summary

Duke Health's Apheresis Clinic at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a Registered Nurse to support our mission of Advancing Health Together. The role involves outpatient apheresis procedures, complex patient education, and multidisciplinary collaboration in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Ideal candidates have BSN, NC RN licensure, BLS, and 1 year of clinical experience; dialysis/apheresis or ICU exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN program.
• Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience required.
• Current North Carolina RN licensure and BLS certification.
• Dialysis/apheresis or ICU/hematology experience preferred.
• Pre-employment Physical Capacity Testing required.

Responsibilities

• Assess nursing needs of ambulatory patients and coordinate care.
• Provide and document nursing care per physician orders in ambulatory settings.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and healthcare teams.
• Educate patients and families about care plans.
• Assist in clinic operations and act as a team leader.
• Maintain equipment and supplies and participate in safety initiatives.
• Participate in professional development and performance improvement activities.
