Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in apheresis nursing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Arizona RN license or license from a compact state.
• BLS certification due on hire and renewed every two years.
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy and immunotherapy certificate within 30 days of hire and renewal every two years.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document care for medical/surgical, ambulatory and same-day surgery patients.
• Direct care delivered by Patient Care Technicians and other team members.
• Adhere to infection control policies and hand hygiene.
• Communicate effectively with peers to resolve conflicts.
• Assist in onboarding new employees.
• Protect patient dignity, rights and privacy.
• Delegate tasks per Arizona Nurse Practice Act and job descriptions.
• Document nursing care, implants and specimens accurately.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and maintain competencies.
• Pursue professional growth and keep current with technology.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Care for patients with IV lines, central lines and ports.
• Administer and monitor blood products safely.
