Job summary

City of Hope is seeking an experienced Apheresis Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team in advancing patient care. The role focuses on donor phlebotomy and therapeutic apheresis, adhering to Donor Apheresis Center SOPs and contributing to center trials and data reporting.

Required credentials include a California RN license and BLS, with at least one year in a donor center; training or precepting experience is a plus. A patient‑centered, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
• One year donor center (phlebotomy) experience.
• Experience in training or as a preceptor preferred.
• California RN license and Basic Life Support certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs donor phlebotomy, donor and therapeutic apheresis according to standard procedures.
• Participates in SOP validation and recommends changes before implementation.
• Maintains knowledge of blood collection and apheresis techniques.
• Gathers data, assists in writing summary reports, and maintains Donor Center records.
• Participates in quality assurance activities to ensure safety of the blood supply and high-quality service.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Apheresis Nurse to join our team at City of Hope. The Apheresis Nurse functions as part of a care team who, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health team, is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Performs donor phlebotomy, donor and therapeutic apheresis according to Donor Apheresis Center standard operating procedures.
• Participates in standard operating procedure validation and recommends changes prior to implementation.
• Maintains knowledge of rationale and techniques relating to blood collection and apheresis.
• Participates in the design of Donor Center trials and maintains records. Gathers statistical data, assists in writing summary reports.
• Participates in quality assurance activities to continually ensure safety of the blood supply and provide high quality service to internal and external customers.

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing is required.

One year Donor Center (phlebotomy) experience

Experience in training or as a preceptor preferred.

Required Certification/Licensure:
