Job summary

A regional economic development council in Rockford seeks an APEX Accelerator Advisor to assist small businesses in securing government contracts and procurement opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business or related fields and at least 5 years of procurement experience. This role involves a strong focus on client management, compliance, and community engagement within Northern Illinois. Applicants must possess excellent communication skills and be proficient in MS Office. This position does not allow for remote work.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of government procurement/purchasing experience.
• Experience with APEX, SBDC, non-profit, or grant/contract programs preferred.
• Familiarity with Northern Illinois economic landscape.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with managing all aspects of the APEX Accelerator program.
• Develop and maintain client portfolios.
• Provide counseling for government procurement processes.
